Quick Update – A key resource needed to return to China

Health Declaration

I leave on 1.6.21 and I contacted the department that issues the health declaration form and was kindly informed that they no longer issue those.

Now, they’re issuing QR codes which are supposed to be faster.

I contacted them to figure out what kind of timeline I needed to create from the time I get tested to the time I board the plane.

They replied with a few emails – 1 with links to articles about what to do next, another about the QR code application and a third with a “hypothetical departure” example.

The Email

The email reads:

“According to “Notice on the Launch of QR Code with “HDC” Mark for China-bound Foreign Passengers”, as from 0:00 on December 1, 2020 Pacific Time, the Chinese Embassy/Consulates General will issue QR code with “HDC” mark for foreign passengers who are to fly from the U.S. to China. Foreign passengers can apply for the QR code with “HDC” mark by logging on the website of https://hrhk.cs.mfa.gov.cn/h5/ via computer or smart phone. The Chinese Embassy/Consulates in the U.S. will no longer issue the stamped Health Declaration Form through emails.”

Today, I created an account in advance so I can simply log in when the time comes to apply for the code.

I feel one step closer, guys; I’m one step closer!
